Bahiya Movement’s Believe In Self (BIS) emerging artists mentorship program was developed in 2019 as a performance residency for emerging dancers looking to deepen their ongoing artistic practice and create connectivity with Bay Area arts communities to strengthen skills to succeed as professional artists.

While the LGBTQ+ communities have always been essential to who we are, the need for safe artistic space to heal and connect is as great as it has ever been as violence directly aimed at this community - especially folks who are both BIPOC and LGBTQ+ - continues to grow.

B.I.S. QUEERspace will be a mentorship program for young emerging artists (18-24) who live in this intersection

The 2-month residency will give upcoming artists the skills they need to move forward with confidence and sustainability through mentorship, rehearsal space, and equipment, support with W-I-P’s, professional coaching, photo sessions, and a final performance produced in collaboration with the other B.I.S. participants.
